Privacy and Social Media Policy
This privacy policy explains how personal information about you is collected, used, disclosed and otherwise managed by Western Australian Teaching and Learning Forum ("WATLF") Committee in connection with the WATLF and the WATLF website. The WATLF Committee reserves the right to update or change this Policy at any time, and will add notification via the header bar of its website.
The WATLF Committee and organisers through the host university and its registration systems collect the following types of personal information: your name, title, email address, phone number and address, job title, and institution name, dietary and accessibility needs.
The WATLF uses the personal information described above to:
a. Register you for the WATLF, and, where applicable, to accommodate dietary restrictions or access requirements.
b. Create name tags to be worn by you at the Forum.
c. Add presenter name, institution and email to the Forum Program (online PDF and within the program app).
d. Communicate with you regarding your registration, and/or presentation.
The host institution stores your personal information in the registration payment system and on an internal recording system for two years.
The WATLF will store your name and contact details in its storage system for up to three years to: inform you when registrations and proposals are open for subsequent Forums.
Each year the Host institution and WATLF Committee may inform you of additional uses of your personal information which will only be related to Forum-related professional learning opportunities that may arise in between Forums.
The host institution and the WATLF will not sell or provide your personal information for advertising purposes (including Sponsors), or provide your details to others without your consent.
In registering for the WATLF, you accept that at various events at the Forum you may be photographed, video or audio recorded and that this content may be used by WATLF at its discretion on website, social media, newsletters or other promotional material.
Presenters are asked to indicate on their proposal templates whether they are willing to have their presentation recorded.
Recordings may be made available on the Forum website past proceedings, which are open to view to anyone on the Internet.
WATLF permits and encourages the use of social media, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Google+, Snapchat and blogging at the conference to summarise, highlight, review, critique, and/or promote presentations, or the conference in general, on condition that copyright law is adhered to.
