Process to submit
The WA Higher Education community are invited to submit proposals annually at a date determined by the WATLF host institution in consultation and agreement with The Committee.
Proposals must be submitted to the Forum email address on or before the published date for close of presentation proposals: proposals@wateachingandlearningforum.org
Proposals not submitted by the due date or via the email address are not accepted.
The Committee may extend the due date and will advertise the change of due date on the WATLF website.
Process of selection
The Forum holds a community sharing and showcasing principle underpinning all aspects of the Forum. Therefore, submission reviewers have an inclusive, rather than competitive approach.
Proposals are reviewed on a 0 – 5 scale of most relevant to type, theme, forum purpose, innovation, interest, and quality, where ‘5’ is the most relevant and ‘0’ has no relevance.
A selection panel comprised of The Committee and members of the host institution in a given year reviews and engages in moderation processes to select proposals.
All proposals are reviewed by two people, generally but not exclusively, one from host institution and one from The Committee.
The Chair endeavours to ensure that there is no Conflict of Interest, and where possible avoids reviewers from the same Institution as the proposal. Conflict of Interest is defined as a direct personal or professional relationship with the proposer.
The Committee conducts a moderation session to select and confirm selection.
A third moderator may also support the review process, such as where a conflict of interest is identified after or during the review process, there is discrepancy in review outcomes, or other reasons that arise and it is deemed reasonable for a fair and just outcome.
The Committee may provide a proposal with the opportunity to revise and resubmit with feedback and/or mentoring., and suggest an alternate Presentation Type. This remains at the discretion of the panel.
Unsuccessful proposal submissions may be due to, but not limited to these: the proposal
The Committee's decision is final.
Where there is discrepancy or conflict within the selection panel or Committee, or a decision is required out of the timeframe of the selection process, the Forum Chair has the final word.
Notification of outcome
All successful and unsuccessful proposals are notified by email of the outcome of their proposals.
The notification date is advertised on the website. The Committee may change the notification date.
A change to the date will be notified on the WATLF Website.
